On September 30, the Vietnam Investment Review (VIR) held the “Enablers for Digital Economy Development in Vietnam” conference in Hanoi, bringing together government agencies, business leaders, and experts to explore the future landscape of Vietnam’s digital economy. The conference tackled key topics such as market trends, the commercialization of 5G, and the critical role of digital infrastructure in driving economic growth.
Executives from prominent companies, including Ericsson Vietnam, MobiFone, AWS Vietnam, and Grab Vietnam, participated in the event alongside representatives from the Ministry of Information and Communications. Their discussions fostered a collaborative dialogue aimed at sharing best practices and insights related to digital transformation.
In the panel discussion titled “Making Digital Infrastructure Ready,” Dr. Remi Nguyen, Vice-Chairman of EuroCham’s Digital Sector Committee, highlighted Vietnam’s impressive strides in developing its digital infrastructure. He assessed the country’s preparedness for 5G commercialization and outlined essential steps needed to build on this momentum. Dr. Remi also underscored the crucial role of European businesses in enhancing Vietnam’s digital landscape and shared insights gleaned from the European Union’s own digital transformation journey.
Furthermore, Dr. Remi discussed the initiatives of EuroCham’s Digital Sector Committee aimed at accelerating the growth of Vietnam’s digital economy, reinforcing the importance of strategic collaboration in this evolving field.
